It’s been out of print since 1991 but you can watch it soon!  Prince’s rare 1987 concert film, Sign O’ the Times’ is coming to Showtime in September.  It has footage of Paisley Park Studios and from a few shows he did around the same time.

Should be good!

Prince is continuing his residency type tour with a 21 date tour in Los Angeles which begins on April 14th at the Forum. Not all the dates will be at the Forum but the details of the other places will be announced soon. Prince said “I will be starting a 21-night stand…with the New Power Generation and a whole gang of special guests. I’m gonna blast the roof off that place, I promise!”

Prince just continues his legacy.

Prince played 27 different instruments on his debut album “For You”.

Damn I feel like he gets sued a lot for some reason. Well he’s getting sued by a lawyer that claims Prince didn’t pay his $50,000 legal bill for two cases he worked on. Funny enough, Prince hired this lawyer to battle a case that claims he didn’t pay an agency for services. Somethings weird here

I’ve been a fan of Prince since the early 80’s.  I even won a contest for having the most Prince pins in school….but thats another story.

Prince’s new album “20Ten” will be a free give away with the Daily Mirror paper but he isn’t happy with giving his album away for free.

“The Internet is completely over. I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won’t pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can’t get it.  The Internet’s like MTV.  At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. All these computers and digital gadgets are no good.  They just fill your head with numbers and that cant be good for you.”

Wow.  On top of this he shut down his website and isn’t going to license his new music to download stores or other services.   Honestly his last few albums haven’t been all that so whatever.

Prince is set to get the BET Lifetime Achievement Award on June 27 at the BET awards. He should of received this years ago considering he’s had thirty Top 40 singles and ten platinum albums to date. By getting this award he will join the others such as Earth Wind & Fire, James Brown, Whitney Houston, Isley Brothers and others.

Aw shit people just can’t leave him alone.  Prince is being sued by a literary agent over a recent book deal.  He reportedly agreed to be represented by this agency for distribution on a book that documented his 21 date residency, titled 21 Nights, at Londons O2 Arena back in 2007.  They say he chose the company as his “exclusive agent with respect to the negotiations of a publishing deal.”  So Prince stopped talking to the agency, then went behind their back and did the deal with out them.  Ouch.  The agency is seeking $200,000.  What’s that, about 10 minutes of one of his shows?  Oh Prince.

This is very rare and amazing. Prince was interviewed by Tavis Smiley (um who?) from his late night show on PBS. I couldn’t put it in this post so I have to just give you the link. Check it out. It’s really interesting.

Prince Interview

Prince is releasing his own purple iPod touch pre-loaded with a 15 song video from his 21 night residency in London 2 years ago.  Strangely enough, it won’t be available via Apple.  You’ll have to purchase the player alongside a book of Prince photographs bound in leather in a velvet-covered case at a whopping price of $2,100.   Only 950 of them will be produced so sell your car and go get it.
