Motorhead has announced that they will play on the main stage at the Mayhem tour beginning on June 30.  Along with Motorhead will be Slipknot and Slayer.  The other stages will include Anthrax, The Devil Wears Prada, As I Lay Dying, Asking Alexandria, Whitechapel, High on Fire, Upon A Burning Body, I the Breather and another act not announced yet.  Here are the dates.

Wow, you have to listen to this. Lemmy of Motorhead and Dave Lombardo of Slayer sang “Stand By Me” from Ben E. King for the new Flip Skateboards film titled ‘Extremely Sorry’. Man this is actually pretty damn good.

Bay Area’s own Machine Head are touring with Slayer, Megadeth and Metallica begining on November 8th.  They’ll do their own U.S. headline show on November 6 at the Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale, New York.  Here is the tour with who’s playing when:

On November 3 when Slayers new album ‘World Painted Blood’ releases, it will come in 4 different special collector’s edition CD covers.  Each one, when put together side by side, will form a complete map of the world.  There will also be a deluxe edition will include the album plus the “Playing With Dolls” DVD and an expanded booklet.

Slayer is coming out with their 10th studio album on November 3rd titled ‘World Painted Blood’.  Of course there will be different editions of the album witha limited edition CD with multiple CD covers, a deluxe edition CD/DVD and a vinyl edition.  They say to check their site for the most up to date announcements.

Slayer is almost done with their 10th studio album that should be coming out in July which is being produced by Rick Rubin. They are trying to get it out in time for the summers Mayhem Festival tour with Marilyn Manson.

Slayers new track “Psychopathy Red” (say it out loud, cykopAthee) will be available as a 7-inch vinyl disc beginning Saturday April 18th as part of their third annual Record Store Day.  There’s only going to be 5,000 of these limited edition discs and will be available exclusively at participating independent record stores.  Log onto www.recordstoreday.com for the list of participating stores.
