I don’t normally post on huge famous artists but I thought this was a great move. Drake recently released an album of his hit songs and one of them is “Jodeci Freestyle” that he did with J. Cole. In that track, J. Cole says:
Go check the numbers dummy, that’s just me gettin’ started I’m artistic, you n—as is autistic, retarded
Well Drake wasn’t having it and removed the lyric. They even had to have a joint press release! Cole apologized for being insensitive and all is safe and great in the world!
Tool have announced, via Instagram, that their fifth studio album will be released on August 30th. The album is titled ‘Fear Inoculum’. Even better news is they announced they’ll finally have their back catalog available via streaming services.
Check out their new logo which Tool posted on Instagram
The Beastie Boys have put out 2 rare EP’s from the late 80’s in celebration of their 30th anniversary of their album ‘Paul’s Boutique’. The titles are “An Exciting Evening At Home With Shadrach, Meshach And Abednego” and the “Love American Style. These are the first two EP’s from a total of six rare EP’s they will put out over the next three weeks.
These EP’s will have B-sides, remixes, live versions and a slew of other music.
Steve Perry, most known for being the lead singer of Journey, is releasing a new single. It’s off his first solo album in 25 years and the track is called ‘Sun Shines Gray’. I’ve always loved his voice and this song just makes me happy for some reason. Last year the first song off the album titled ‘Traces’ debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
Independent Music Promotions sent me over an Artist I haven’t heard before and I have to say, I’m really enjoying his music. This first track titled ‘Bad Dreams’ by CW Allen sounds like you are in a dream and CW is your soundtrack. The track is from the upcoming album titled ‘The Dream Baby 2’ which is coming out on August 2, 2019. CW says
“Bad Dreams was written right after I found out my 19 year old cousin was murdered. I just felt like I was in a bad dream that I couldn’t wake up from. Unfortunately this is very common reality in Chicago and my hometown Cleveland.”
I had the chance to listen to all 5 tracks and they are all worth listening to, several times. Take a listen

This is the second new single from Anderson Paaks touring band, the Free Nationals, featuring Kali Uchis. On it is the first new verse we’ve heard since Mac Millers passing on September 7, 2018. The Free Nationals were the house band for Miller’s Celebration of Life concert last October. Here’s the beautiful song
Perry Farrell, formerly of Jane’s Addiction and Lollapalooza fame, has put out a solo album; his first since 2001. The album is titled ‘Kind Heaven’ and includes performances by Tommy Lee, Dhani Harrison, Taylor Hawkins, Elliot Easton from The Cars, and Jane’s Addiction bassist Chris Chaney.
Farrell recently told SPIN Magazine:
“I believe completely in astral projection. I also believe that a spirit can come and talk to you when you’re sleeping. I completely believe that in that moment, more subtle energies are allowed to mingle. We can learn things.”
So I read in the news that someone was ransoming 18 hours of previously unreleased material from Radioheads OK Computer album. It was all recorded by Thom Yorke and the ransom was upwards of $150,000. Well nobody paid the ransom so the 18 hours of music has been released….somewhere out there (I didn’t search but it’s apparently out there).
The leaked material includes previously unreleased live-only tracks as well as short riffs and ambient snippets that never evolved into full songs.
I have to admit, I haven’t heard much of B Boys but I will now. I like their new song ‘I Want’ and according to their press release:
“‘I Want’ was inspired by the frustration of having to demand for the things you innately deserve. It’s about over-consumption and dissatisfaction, as well as the infinite process of personal improvement.”
Their sophomore album that this song is taken from is titled ‘DuDu’ will be released July 26, 2019
