AC/DC just put out the original live video of ‘Back in Black’ from 1979. It was filmed in Arnhem, Holland and features the original singer, Bon Scott before he passed in 1980. Brian Johnson would replace Bon Scott and they would go on to make the album ‘Back in Black’ which went on to become one of the best-selling albums in music history. Here’s the video
Steve Perry, most known for being the lead singer of Journey, is releasing a new single. It’s off his first solo album in 25 years and the track is called ‘Sun Shines Gray’. I’ve always loved his voice and this song just makes me happy for some reason. Last year the first song off the album titled ‘Traces’ debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard 200.
Independent Music Promotions sent me over an Artist I haven’t heard before and I have to say, I’m really enjoying his music. This first track titled ‘Bad Dreams’ by CW Allen sounds like you are in a dream and CW is your soundtrack. The track is from the upcoming album titled ‘The Dream Baby 2’ which is coming out on August 2, 2019. CW says
“Bad Dreams was written right after I found out my 19 year old cousin was murdered. I just felt like I was in a bad dream that I couldn’t wake up from. Unfortunately this is very common reality in Chicago and my hometown Cleveland.”
I had the chance to listen to all 5 tracks and they are all worth listening to, several times. Take a listen
Dayum this is impressive. The Weeknd’s song ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ have been viewed over 1 Billion times on YouTube. BILLION!
Even more impressive is the fact that this is his third song to pass 1 Billion. ‘Starboy’ was viewed 1.5 Billion and ‘The Hills’ with more than 1.3 Billion views.
Damn, this really sucks. Philippe Zdar of the electronica group Cassius has passed away. These guys weren’t played on the radio but if you were into house/electronica then you probably heard of them. They were a huge part of the French dance music that was coming out in the 90’s. Zdar also produced other music for people like rapper MC Solaar and LA Funk Mob. The crazy part is how he died; he fell from the window of a Paris building! We was only 52 years old.
Here’s a pic of him from 2015 and the video for the track ‘Foxxy’ from their first album ‘1999’.
Soundgarden is releasing “Live From The Artists Den” on July 26. The performances were in support of their 2012’s album “King Animal” and was digitally re-mastered by IMAX. If you can’t wait, on July 1, Soundgarden will premiere the performances in IMAX for a special one-night global event. Here’s “New Damage” taken from the performances
I remember back in my goth days, The Sisters of Mercy was always playing in my room. I really loved them. Here are the lyrics to one of my favorite songs by them. The song is ‘This Corrosion’ and was released in 1987 on their album titled ‘Floodland’
THIS CORROSION

Gimme the ring, kissed and told Gimme something that I missed (gimme the ring) A hand to hold, wild and what it seems (gimme the ring) Kill the king with love is the law And then we’ll turn round (gimme the ring) Gimme dream child And do you hear me call? This is the second new single from Anderson Paaks touring band, the Free Nationals, featuring Kali Uchis. On it is the first new verse we’ve heard since Mac Millers passing on September 7, 2018. The Free Nationals were the house band for Miller’s Celebration of Life concert last October. Here’s the beautiful song
I thought this was interesting. You know the old song from John Mellencamp titled ‘Jack & Diane’ that came out way back in 1982? Well he’s turning it into a musical with Kathleen Marshall to direct and choreograph. She’s a winner of 3 Tonys out of nine nominations so this should be good.
The backers of the musical had this to say
“This is a story about those people who live, love and die on the underside of the American Dream in small towns all across our country. This is a tale, laced with humor and visceral energy, about star-crossed lovers, and their stubborn refusal to give up, to lie down, to let go of the potential their youthful dreams once promised.”
I have to admit, I haven’t heard much of B Boys but I will now. I like their new song ‘I Want’ and according to their press release:
“‘I Want’ was inspired by the frustration of having to demand for the things you innately deserve. It’s about over-consumption and dissatisfaction, as well as the infinite process of personal improvement.”
Their sophomore album that this song is taken from is titled ‘DuDu’ will be released July 26, 2019
Pixies are finally putting out another album on Friday the 13th of September 2019. The new album is titled ‘Beneath The Eyrie’ and below is their first single ‘On Graveyard Hill’. It’s pretty darn good!
After Five studio albums, Tyler, The Creator has a #1 album on the Billboard 200 albums chart with his latest release called IGOR.
Here’s some figures for ya: 165,000 equivalent album units with 74,000 of that represents traditional album sales in physical and digital formats. Plus it has 122.9 million streams already.
The album came with a T-shirt, buttons, yard signs and stickers. I love goodies with music!
Joy Division is definitely in my top 10 most favorite groups. They were gone too early due to their lead singer, Ian Curtis, committing suicide the day before they were supposed to tour the US for the first time ever. The only good part of that is the remaining members went on to form New Order. Funny thing about that is Ian never wanted electronics in the band and New Order went on to be one of the biggest electronica bands. Here is their most famous song, ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart.’
When routine bites hard And ambitions are low And resentment rides high But emotions won’t grow And we’re changing our ways Taking different roads Love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again
Why is the bedroom so cold? Turned away on your side Is my timing that flawed? Our respect run so dry? Yet there’s still this appeal That we’ve kept through our livesBut love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again
Do you cry out in your sleep? All my failings exposed Gets a taste in my mouth As desperation takes hold And it’s something so good Just can’t function no more?
Love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear us apart again Love, love will tear up apart again
I really, really love Killing Joke. They are amazing live and watching Jaz scream and be as evil as possible is beautiful. They recently played at Saint Vitus in New York and Revolver Magazine posted the following video and pictures from Nathaniel Shannon .
