For Kurt Cobains last photo shoot with Nirvana, he wore a black sweater that recently went to an auction. It was the summer of 1993 and can be seen in the photobook ‘Kurt Cobain: The Last Session.’ Some lucky person paid $75,000 to obtain this sweater. It was estimated to sell at $10,000 to $20,000 but jumped all the way to $75,000.
The last auction item of Kurts sold back in 2015. It was his green cardigan from Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged performance and it sold for $137,000!

This beautiful rare VOX guitar was used by John Lennon and George Harrison and went up for auction last Saturday. Harrison played the guitar while practicing “I am the Walrus” during The Magical Mystery Tour and by Lennon while recording a video session for “Hello, Goodbye.”
The auction house thought they would get about $200,000 for it but it ended up selling for $408,000. Crazy!
I often research music memorabilia auctions to see what’s out there and how much things go for. Check out this Beatles Record Player from 1964 that still works. Ya it’s currently $1,750 but damn it’s pretty cool. Here’s a pic of it and the link if you have some money laying around (ya right!).
Oh man this is really really gross so I had to post it. Elvis Presley’s disgustingly soiled underwear are going up for auction in England next month. These undies were worn in 1977 when Elvis was NOT the hottie everyone loved. The auction house thinks they’ll get about $15,000 to $16,000 for them. GROSS!

On the cover of the great ‘Back to Black’ album from Amy Winehouse, she wore a white with red polka dot dress with an ugly red belt. Well it went up for auction yesterday in London along with other items from Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn.
Believe it or not, that dress sold for……$67,000. WOW pretty crazy. Some people have money to burn. Check it out below
Well it finally sold. For $330,000!!! Insane. Some other stuff sold at that auction:
Fedora Jackson wore on stage: $72,000
Jacket signed by Jackson: $96,000
Marilyn Monroe’s empty prescription bottles (2): $18,750
X-Ray of Albert Einstein’s brain: $38,750
Military Style Jacket John Lennon wore for 1966 Life Magazine Shoot: $240,000
Shit it must be nice to have that kind of money laying around where you can buy this kind of stuff.
Sotheby’s is auctioning off the handwritten lyrics to “A Day in the Life” written by John Lennon on June 18th. It’s not the final draft but it has Lennon’s sketch of what became the actual song. Sotheby’s doesn’t think it will surpass the $1 million mark the handwritten lyrics to “All You Need is Love” did back in 2005 but think it should be somewhere between $500,000 to $700,000.
You know I love to report on fat head Suge Knight. Well last weekend he has some of his possessions auctioned off to pay storage debts. There was clothing, furniture and gym equipment. This stuff came from his former Malibu mansion that was sold in 2008. According to reports, a photo of Suge and Tupac went for only $100 and a flat-screen TV that went for $230. Only $4,500 was made on his crap which didn’t quite pay the storage fees. You know this fool has money hidden all over the place. Seriously, Death Row Records was worth millions of dollars.
For some reason I thought this piece was already sold but I guess not. Michael Jacksons rhinestone encrusted glove that he wore on the infamous Motown 25th Anniversary Special TV show back in 1983 when he first showed everyone the Moonwalk sold for $350,000. It went to Hoffman Ma, a Hong Kong business man for his hotel in Macau China.
I feel like every month one of his gloves goes up for sale. Maybe it’s just me. Well the ‘Profiles in History’ auction held near LA sold the 80’s white glove that had bugle beads and Austrian crystal rhinestones and fitted with 50 small lights sold for a ridiculous $66,000. Who has that money sitting around? Geez. Well this is what is.
