On June 25th, ASCAP is going to present Dr. Dre with the Founders Award. ASCAP President/Chairman Paul Willaims said “Dre is one of the most important voices in modern music. He created a unique, recognizable sound that dominated rap music in the early 90’s..and continues to inspire artists and producers across all genres with his musical techniques.”

Dre’s ‘The Chronic’ has sold over 3 million copies and ‘Dr. Dre 2001’ has sold about 6 million. He’s also won five Grammy Awards and of course has hits with Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent, 2Pac, Gwen Stefani and Eminem.

Damn does he deserve that. Now if he can only get ‘Detox’ out sometime this decade.

Oh great we have another P. Diddy on our hands. 50 Cent has stated that he will soon stop using his rap name and return as a different character. He said “50 Cent is a person I created. Soon it will be time to destroy him and become somebody else.”

All those millions of $$$ must get boring.

50 Cent put out a new free mixtape and named it for Michael Jackson.  It’s called ‘Forever King’ and really there are only a few references to Michael in the mix but it’s cool anyway.   You can get it over at 50’s site.  Its right at the top of the home page and once you click it, it will automatically download.

Damn 50 Cent just keeps going and going. He is now going to launch his own fragrance called ‘Power’ and he just signed a deal wtih Macy’s to sell it. How appropriate of the name. I wonder if it will smell like money and Formula 50?
