Tool On Tour

Tool is ready to go on the road for a summer tour beginning on June 19th. Their last studio album was ‘10,000 days’ back in 2006 so it’s not like they have any new music but it will be nice to see them again. They are such a great band live. If you remember Maynard James Keenan started his winery ‘Stronghold Vineyards’ a few years back so he’s been busy with that. There are hints that a new album is underway. Here are the tour dates.

The Black Crowes Double Album

On August 3rd, The Black Crowes will release their first double album of all acoustic material to celebrate their 20 year anniversary since their first album. The album is called ‘Croweology” and will be priced at the rate of a regular album. Their tour will begin on August 13th and go through to December 19th. After that, they are going on a long hiatus. Who knows if they will ever come back so see them while you can.

The Kottonmouth Kings New Video

On April 20th The Kottonmouth Kings are releasing a new album titled ‘Long Live The Kings’ and here is their new release ‘Mushrooms’. They will also be touring with the Insane Clown Posse through May and June.

70000tons Of Metal Cruise

Alright you might have already heard about the 70000tons Of Metal Cruise that’s sailing on January 24, 2011. Well if you haven’t, you’re gonna now. It’s leaving on January 24, 2011 on the Royal Caribbean “Majesty of the Seas” from Miami Florida to Cozumel, Mexico and won’t be coming back until 4 days later on January 28, 2011. So far the bands confirmed are Amon Amarth, Epica, Finntroll, Moonspell, Obituary, Raven, Saxon, Sodom, Sonata Arctica, Stratovarius, Swashbuckle, Trouble, Uli Jon Roth and Witchburner. And now Bay Area greats Death Angel have been added to the list.

There will be a total of 40 bands on this cruise and with nowhere to really hide out (except your room) everyone will be hanging out together; fans and bands. Tickets start at $666 plus $249 taxes and fees per person. Check more out at 70000tons.com.

Buzzcocks Touring

How great is this. The Buzzcocks are heading on a North American tour beginning in Washington DC on May 11th. They recently reissued three of their albums ‘Another Music In A Different Kitchen’, ‘Love Bites’, and ‘A Different Kind Of Tension’. Sweet.

Soilwork & Death Angel Touring

Swedish band Soilwork has announced a North American tour with Death Angel to begin on 7/14/10 in Virginia. Also with them will be Augury, Mutiny Within and Swashbuckle. Soilwork vocalist Bjorn “Speed” Strid said in a statement

“We are stoked to tour with the most vicious thrashers from the west, famous for their gin drinking and intense live shows. Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bret Michaels Tour

Yep you heard that right. Starting on June 10th in West Palm Beach Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bret Michaels are heading out on a 17 date tour. Tickets went on sale yesterday at LiveNation so I hope you have a couple hundred bucks!! Bret went on to say;

PiL On Tour In North America!!!!

I can’t contain my excitement on this. John Lydon (aka Johnny Rotten of the Sex Pistols) and his band PiL (Public Image Ltd.) are coming to the states after getting back together last year. PiL started back in 1978 after the Sex Pistols broke up and put out 8 albums up to 1992 when John shut it down. So I’m happy I finally get to see them. The Crash Test Dummies Are Back!!!

Ya you remember them. That strange song “Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm” that came out in the early 90’s. Well they are recording a new album titled ‘Oooh La La’ and it will be released on May 11th. After the album they will head out on a tour to support the album. Here’s that song from way back.

Rob Zombie News

Alright a couple things on Zombie.

Don’t forget he directed an episode of “CSI: Miami” which will air on March 1st at 8:00pm (west coast).

His recent album ‘Hellbilly Deluxe 2’ that came out on February 2nd (his first Hellbilly Deluxe was his first solo album and came out 12 years ago) debuted at #8 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart (selling 48,500 units in its first week) and is #1 on the ‘Hard Music’ chart.

Zombie will be headlining the Mayhem Festival which begins on July 10th.

Lilith Tour 2010

Not that I ever went to it but there is going to be some great people playing in this tour.  Beginning this summer the tour will have a ton of artists including Cat Power, Corinne Bailey Rae, Emmylou Harris, Erykah Badu, Indigo Girls, Jill Scott, Ke$ha, Loretta Lynn, Mary J. Blige and tons more.  They will be hitting most of the big cities here in the US.  More information will be coming.

Henry Rollins Spoken Word Tour

Early next hear Henry Rollins will be on the road again for his spoken word tour called the “Frequent Flyer Tour”. I’m not sure I would go but I have seen his spoken word shows on tv and they are pretty heavy but definitely interesting.
