Tina Turner’s Live CD/DVD

Remember back in 2008, Tina Turner went back on tour for the ‘Tina Turner’s 50th Anniversary Concert Tour.’ If you didn’t see her then you can now see her on DVD on October 20th. It’s over 2 hours long, mixed in 5.1 surround sound and features some of her best songs like ‘Private Dancer’ and ‘We Don’t Need Another Hero.’ I’ve always loved her but man, she is what. . . .70 years old.

Johnny Cash Remixed

A while back I had written about Snoop Dogg being the Executive Producer on Johnny Cash’s new reworked album.  Strangely enough some of the tracks are remixed by Alabama 3, Pete Rock and Snoop himself.  Well ‘Johnny Cash Remixed’ has finally released on June 15th.  There is also a CD/DVD package that will have the DVD showing the documentary about the making of the album.

Big Pun DVD

There is going to be a DVD release on the great Bronx emcee Big Pun.  Titled “Big Pun: The Legacy” the DVD will come out sometime during this summer.  The director Vlad Yudin interviewed a lot of Big Puns friends and family along with Snoop Dogg, Method Man and many others.  Big Pun’s most known for being the first Latino rapper to go platinum and unfortunately his life ended too early back in 2000 when he died from a heart attack and respiratory failure.  Here is one of his great songs

Jimi Hendrix DVD

A new DVD is coming out featuring the offstage and in between gig times of Jimi Hendrix. The candid footage was originally shot in 1969 when a camera crew followed him around for a month. These shots of him have never been seen before and will, at least for me, bring me a little closer to the iconic man. You know what I mean? I have been seeing him perform on TV for ever but never really seen him talking or kicking back so this wil be pretty sick to see.

Stevie Nicks CD/DVD

Stevie Nicks will be releasing the “Live in Chicago” DVD along with “The Soundstage Sessions” CD which will both be out on March 31st. The DVD has all her great classics from solo projects to songs she wrote with Fleetwood Mac. She says “”This is the first time since 1985 that I have had one of my live shows filmed and recorded,” said Nicks. “We spent three years perfecting this show which we began in Vegas in October of 2007. I could not move on until we filmed this show. Luckily “Soundstage” producer Joe Thomas, who saw the show many times, felt the same way. I am as proud of this as anything I’ve ever done in my entire career.” The CD includes 10 songs from the “Live in Chicago” DVD. There are also digital downloads of her remake of “Crash Into Me” from Dave Matthews (which she says “I’ve wanted to record this song for the last 10 year”) which will be available on Amazonmp3.co beginning on March 17th.

Rod Stewarts MTV Performance on DVD

Are you a ROD Stewart fan?  Do you remember his 1993 performance for MTV’s Unplugged series?  Well its being remastered and expanded and also includes a DVD of the performance which aired on MTV but never released in any format.  This performance also reunited Stweart with Ron Wood who he played with in the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces.  Of course Ron Wood went on to play with the Rolling Stones and Stewart has had a great solo career.  You can but the CD/DVD package for about $25 or just the digital/audio version for $12.00.  Support and buy it here Unplugged…and Seated (CD/DVD Collector’s Edition)
