Ted Nugent and the Secret Service!

“If Barack Obama becomes the president in November, I will either be dead or in jail by this time next year.”

So I did some research on this because I wasn’t following Ted Nugent and his comments. I knew he was pretty hardcore with the NRA, hunting etc. That’s cool.

At one of his concerts, he held up an AK-47 and said “Hey, suck on this, Obama.”

Well he had to meet with the Secret Service over this past weekend to clear some of the issues. Apparently both sides left pretty happy.

“Good, solid, professional meeting concluding that I have never made any threats of violence towards anyone. The meeting could not have gone better.”

Last week, five vintage guitars owned by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers were stolen from a Culver City soundstage in L.A. Petty thought it was a good idea to post it on Twitter and offer a $7,500 reward. They were listed as a 1967 12-string Rickenbacker, a Gibson SG TV Junior, a Fender Broadcaster, a 1967 Epiphone Sheridan, and a blue Dusenberg. One man has been arrested.

Slim Loris – Low

Oh boy, I found another great song/group thanks to James at Independent Music Promotions.

Right when I heard the drums in the beginning I knew I was on a ride. I love his voice as it fits the music perfectly. These are the kind of bands that I wish more people could find and appreciate as much as I do! I love the hints of Doobie Brothers and CCR. But have a listen for yourself. Check more out HERE

Korns Jonathan Davis’ New EP

Jonathan Davis of Korn is getting a new electronic EP together under his DJ name of J Devil.  He says

“I love DJing, and I love rocking out.  It’s fun going from DJing electro to heavy dubstep to Korn.  It’s therapy for me.”

I guess since he worked with Skrillex on Korns last album, he’s got the bug.  Good luck, I guess.

It always takes a death right?  Well The Monkees have unfortunately benefited (ya terrible word) from the death of Davy Jones on February 29.  According to Billboard.com The Monkees overall track sales grew 3,750% from 4,000 during the week ending February 26 to 140,000 the past week.  The entire 2011 they sold 174,000 tracks just to show you how crazy of a jump that is.

Whitney’s Funeral Footage For Sale!

I think there is so much wrong with this. Whitney Houston’s family has struck a deal to sell video of Whitney’s funeral. A representative of the family has agreed to license footage to several media outlets to “help maximize the estate for the benefit of Bobbi Kristina.” (her 18 year old daughter).

Motown & Ne-Yo…What A Combo

Motown has named Ne-Yo as the new Senior Vice President of A&R. All this while Ne-Yo continues to work on his fifth studio album.

Motown Exec Ms. Habtemariam said:

“We are honored and humbled to have Ne-Yo as a part of the Motown family, as both a recording artist and in an A&R role. We are committed to discovering, developing and nurturing R&B/Soul superstars here at Motown and in Ne-Yo we have both a global superstar and arguably one of the best songwriters in music. His presence on the executive team only strengthens our commitment to the very best in R&B.”

Ne-Yo had some nice words to say as well:

“I’m a combination of excited, honored and terrified all at once! Excited about a new beginning here at Motown, honored that I’ve been given such a prestigious title and trusted with such responsibility, TERRIFIED because I know that playing this role, in the fashion of one of my idols and career role models Mr. Smokey Robinson, these are big shoes to fill…..but trust, I can handle it.”
