This guy just never stops. I’m glad since his last album wasn’t all that great (ouch). So he just started a new clothing line called SOLO and will be out sometime next year. The first item is a hoodie with headphones sewn into the hood. Whaaaaat. Check out one of them below or see the whole set up at SoloByCube.com
Curt Smith of Tears for Fears has released a Christmas song today (or holiday song for you stiff folks). The song is called ‘This Is Christmas’ and will be available in a few ways: iTunes of course, Amazon and other online methods. If you’re a die hard fan, you can go to his site HERE and get a signed limited edition CD single or you can go to his concert and get it.
He will be playing a few solo shows in the LA area in 2011 and is also planning a Tears for Fears tour.
Damon Albarn told BBC 6 Music that he is planning on working together with his hold band mates of Blur. It’s been about 6 years since that happened last. He’s been pretty busy with his other band Gorillaz, which I’m sure you know about.
Damon told BBC: “Well, we met up yesterday and had a really nice chat. I think we’ll probably do something, well we did talk about doing something, maybe, in January… (It will be) something small, no career-based world-domination ideas.”
Right now Helmet is out doing a European tour that is taking them through German, Demark, Switzerland, Italy and France. Page Hamilton did mention that in March 2011 they will come back to the U.S. for a few dates.
“March 3rd to the 24th we’re planning another U.S. run, and then April and May we will be Japan and Australia. Hopefully then back to Europe. Europe is four weeks this November and December, and I’m hoping we’ll do either the early chunk or the late chunk of the festivals next summer.”
Unfortunately if you planned on seeing Suicidal Tendencies in the upcoming weeks you will be pretty bummed. The tour has been cut short due to one of the band members parent passing away. The band says:
“With heavy hearts, the band decided it would be best to postpone the remaining ST shows and make them up sometime next year. We appreciate your understanding, your thoughts and your prayers. Please give us a few days and we will try and let those who already have tickets how how to get refunds, etc. Again, we are so sorry to have to postpone these shows, but hope that everyone will be able to understand, and we’ll do our best to make the dates up.”
Reports are that David Bowie has officially retired. The last time Bowie played was about 4 years ago when he did a few songs at the BlackBall charity concert in New York. That was even after he had a heart attack during his 2004 Reality tour.
Pink Floyd performed under various monikers in their early years, including Tea Set, Sigma 6, The Screaming Abdabs and Leonard’s Lodgers (after their landlord Mike Leonard).
“I guess I am a feminist of sorts. I love women so much, and I celebrate the feminine in me because I appreciate it so much.”
– Steven Tyler
Well I don’t have much info on this but there was a small announcement by Flavor Flav that he is going to have his own line of Vodka, wine and Chicken. WTF!
“I’ve got the Flavor Flav flavored vodkas and a range of wine coming with my lyrics on the back.”
As for the Chicken:
“It’s called FFC and the Colonel better watch out.”
Wow….just Wow!
Monday the 15th, Sebastian Bach was arrested after getting into a fight in a bar in Ontario. Apparently he was arguing with one of the bars staff because Bach wanted to leave the bar with his glass of wine. He was told he couldn’t and like the little bitch he is, threw his drink at the front door breaking the wine glass all over the place. Then he bit the bar guy on his left hand when he was trying to retrain Bach. What a dick.
Ben Harper’s sophomore album titled ‘Give it Til it’s Gone’ will come out in March 2011 with his band Relentless7.
Kid Rock announced that he will play ‘Born Free’ during the NFL halftime show on Thanksgiving Day when the Detroit Lions take on the New England Patriots at Detroit’s Ford Field.
After waiting and waiting to get the Beatles catalog online, it finally happened. And the winner is…..iTunes of course. On the November 16th EMI CEO Roger Faxon finally got the deal to work out with Apple’s Steve Jobs even with Google and Amazon in the mix. Apparently iTunes offered the best option for the music deal.
As of the other day there were over 15 Beatles songs on the iTunes top 100 and eight albums in the top 20. Nuts.
