In 1965 Frank Sinatra recorded the classic album “September of My Years” and on August 31, 2010 a remastered version is coming out. Along with the original 13 songs there will also be 2 bonus tracks, an alternate version of “How Old Am I” and a live version of “This Is All I Ask.” If you’re into Sinatra, I’m sure you’ll be getting this.

The Cult are putting out their new single called ‘Everyman And Woman Is A Star’ and will be released exclusively at iTunes on August 1st. They’ll be putting out a four song “Capsule” in the fall with this song being one of the tracks. So on this “Capsule” it will not only have the new music but some sort of fashion, art and film and will be available on DVD, CD, USB, vinyl and digital formats.

Ok so I’m sure you heard about Dr. Dre and his “Beats By Dre” that he started with Jimmy Lovine from Interscope records. Well HP created a laptop and netbook line called “Envy” and the ad campaign with ‘Under Pressure’ which collaborates Dre with Jay-Z as the soundtrack. Check out the ad:

Ahh my favorite band Killing Joke is finally putting out a brand new album to be released on September 27th on Spinefarm Records UK. The album is called “XIII: Feast Of Fools” (Absolute Dissent) and will have 12 songs as follows:

Bryan Abrams of the great 90′s R&B group Color Me Badd was arrested in Hawaii on July 20th on suspicion of harassment. Well actually the report is he got into an argument with his wife and threw here across the room. What a jerk. I did some research and this isn’t the first time. Back in 2008 he punched his girlfriend in the face at some restaurant in Oklahoma City while screaming “I’m A Kill You! You and Me! You and Me! Wow.

Well if you don’t remember them, here’s something for ya.

Last Monday the Led Zeppelin lead singer was honored with a star on a sidewalk in Memphis, Tennessee. The sidewalk is on Beale Street in front of the Orpheum Theatre. The honor was for Plant and his “tireless efforts to preserve the blues.” Um OK.

On July 15th Too $hort and an associate were arrested for allegedly punching and kicking some employees at The Knitting Factory in Boise, Idaho. Apparently the employees refused to admit two 18 year old girls backstage during the concert. Too $hort is pissed. He said in a statement.

“The accusations against me regarding my arrest in Idaho on July 15th, were untrue and exaggerated. Normally I would ignore rumors, but because of the nature of the story that’s being spread I had to say something. Due to my work with young people in Oakland I am extremely outraged at the way I am being portrayed. The incident that night was completely taken out of context and I have not and never will take advantage of any woman that is under age. Never that!”

Oh ya and a benefit. Zakk Wylde and his band Black Label Society are doing a benefit concert and a video contest. First they are doing a special show to benefit St Jude Childrens Hospital at the Roxy in West Hollywood California on August 10th. This is the same night that they will be releasing their new album ‘The Order Of The Black’ and 100% of the show’s proceeds are giong to St Jude Children’s Hospital. The video contest is for the “Parade Of The Dead” single and he wants you to shoot it. The winning entry will be used as the official video of the song and the winner will get an autographed box set and BLS Tee Shirts. Details are HERE

I saw this in a magazine and I thought I would show you guys. You know how bad you want to record those live shows your at all the time? Well your phone or some cheap recorder just won’t cut it. Well this Zoom H1 is pretty damn sick. It has two microphones so you can get a balanced recording. The files are saved as MP3′s or WAV’s. How I wish I had this years ago when I went to more shows. I should be getting paid for this recommendation.

Kool G Rap is coming out with an album and he says it’s gonna reveal parts of his life never told before. Alright Alright. He told AllHipHop.com:

“I haven’t been this passionate about s**t in a long time, so when someone asks me a question about it I got so much s**t to say, its not just recording a song, this is spilling my f**king guts out there. This is G Rap right here, from childhood to adulthood. This is the part that I’ma give the people. This is G Rap being excited about even doing this s**t again. There’s been times in my life I lost interest, or even desire to do this s**t. But this, is me.”

So Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park said on his website the other day that he wrote a new album called ‘A Thousand Suns’ and will come out on September 14. He said it was produced by Rick Rubin and himself and there is a twist.

“Beginning July 9 we’re teaming up with MySpace and MixParade for Linkin Park, Featuring You, a contest which gives you the one-of-a-kind opportunity to be on our new album. We’ll be giving you some audio from ‘The Catalyst,’ and you get to take it from there; you can remix the parts, write something over them, or mute stuff and write something totally new. We may choose a remix of the song, and put it on the album… or, we may choose an amazing keyboardist, string quartet, guitarist, percussion group, or other musician, and invite them into the studio to play on one of our songs. No matter what instrument you play, you can win. We’re open to anything good.”

Travis Barker is coming out with a solo album sometime this September and he’s got some pretty good friends helping him out. Oh like RZA, Lil Wayne, Swizz Beatz, Slaughterhouse, Raekwon and Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine. Travis says:

“I’m producing and making all the music and then I’m getting all my favorite rappers and vocalist to be a part of it so it’s been a dream come true.”

Here’s Big Boi of Outkast talking about his new album and why Andre isn’t a part of it.  He wants to work with Kate Bush….really?  That would be a sound right there.

I’ve been a fan of Prince since the early 80′s.  I even won a contest for having the most Prince pins in school….but thats another story.

Prince’s new album “20Ten” will be a free give away with the Daily Mirror paper but he isn’t happy with giving his album away for free.

“The Internet is completely over. I don’t see why I should give my new music to iTunes or anyone else. They won’t pay me an advance for it and then they get angry when they can’t get it.  The Internet’s like MTV.  At one time MTV was hip and suddenly it became outdated. All these computers and digital gadgets are no good.  They just fill your head with numbers and that cant be good for you.”

Wow.  On top of this he shut down his website and isn’t going to license his new music to download stores or other services.   Honestly his last few albums haven’t been all that so whatever.

Oh this is great.  So far the Toronto Canada show has been canceled and its possible that the Buffalo NY and others will be canceled.  I mean c’mon American Idol live.  That show blows.  But I ain’t gonna lie.  I watched it but this last season Crystal Bowersox should have won it but I know that she almost left the show and they didn’t want to deal with her shit.  Either way, nobody is going to this crap.
