Thats right MORE.  A man that works for Akons Producer said that he was the victim of a home invasion by representatives of Suge Knight. His name is Christopher Walker and he told TMZ.com that five men broke into his home in California at about 3 am and took about $170,000 in jewelry, some stereo equipment, a key to a Benz and more totaling about $300,000. Walker said the home invasion was possibly a result from the altercation where some of Akons boys beat Suge Knight during the NBA All-Star Weekend in Arizona. Remember I spoke about this a couple weeks ago (you can use the search on the right side to find it). No comment from Suge yet.

Poor Ms. Badu. She almost missed her appearance at the South By Southwest festival last week due to a stalker that had her barricaded inside her house. She had to call the police to report the woman who had visited her home multiple times and had “several miscellaneous items spread out in the grass.” Thats nuts. The stalker had to be pepper sprayed and hadn cuffed. Now that’s some crazy sh*t.

Elvis Costello is releasing a new album called ‘Secret, Profane and Sugarcane’ on June 1st. Geez . . the album was recorded in THREE days at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studio and was produced by T Bone Burnett. I don’t know how people can record an album in thee days. Thats just amazing.

Good Ol’ Pras is being sued . . . by three homeless people over his 2007 documentary Skid Row. The three homeless people claim Pras disguised himself as a homeless man to star in the film which chronicles his nine-day experience living in the Skid Row section of LA in 2006. Oh man . . the suit says the rappers actions in the film made the “dehumanization and sadness” of their homelessness even tougher. Man, this is going to get ugly.

On March 27th Marilyn Manson will be releasing a FREE single on his website www.marilynmanson.com titled “We’re From America.” The song will be from his forthcoming 7th studio album due on May 25th. He worked with a new line-up on the album including Twiggy Ramirez for the first time in almost a decade. Manson says “I think my life definitely ended and began. The record sounds very final, but it’s almost optimistic though that feels like a strange word to use. It’s a phoenix from the fire and a redemption resurrection”

The old record label Koch Records is coming back to the scene and it’s doing it by relaunching Death Row Records. Now known as E1 Entertainment, they will be releasing previously unreleased Death Row music comprising of a three-track exclusive sampler that will be available on April 18th. The songs are Crooked I’s “Hoodstar,” “Pay for the P***y” by Petey Pablo and “Do What you Do” from Danny Boy.

Any fans of The Mission? Well they have a soft spot in my heart. I got to see the preview to their new DVD titled Final Chapter. The DVD includes footage from their 4 nights in London in 2008. Man it’s really good. I really liked them back in the day when I was oh so young.

Poison frontman and all around male whore Bret Michaels is set to release a tell-all book which will be coming out in June.  The book title will be called “Roses and Thorns:  The Rock N’ Roll Fantasy to my Reality” and will supposedly give people the untold story.  He told Billboard “It gives you the sex, the drugs, the rock ‘n’ roll, but it also gives you the diabetes…It’s about what happens when you try to live out your dream and the reality of it all sets in and it’s the hardest and the strangest thing you will ever do.” Can’t you just see it all on his Rock of Love show?

Roses & Thorns

Mr. Lif will begin his spring “I Heard It Today” tour on April 9th through June 13th. The Def Jux lable artist is probably trying to stir up some buzz in anticipation for his album to come out later this year also titled “I Heard It Today.”

Common has opened up an online book club called “The Corner Book Club” and is geared towards getting youth interested in reading. The sites called commongroundfoundation.com and will have material to enlighten the minds of teenagers. Common explained “My mom was a teacher and growing up she always stressed the importance of education. So when I look back its not a surprise for me to use words as a tool to make change and to inspire children for their future.” That’s really great of Common.

So did anyone see the sick ass performance of Public Enemy and The Roots on the Jimmy Fallon show last week?  It was pretty amazing.  The Roots are such an amazing live band and Public Enemy sounded as fresh as ever.  Here is the link to check it out.

NICE, an NWA biopic titled “Straight Outta Compton” is in the works. The movie will chart the career of the group who formed in 1986 and split up in 1991. Ice Cube and Dr Dre will produce the film with the aid of Tomica Wright, the widow of Easy-E (We want EASY). They are looking for a director like Curtis Hanson who worked on Eminems 8 Mile movie. So far no word if DJ Yella, The D.O.C., Arabian Prince or MC Ren will be involved in the movie.

Green Day’s entire back catalog is set to be released on 12-inch vinyl, including records that have been out of print for years. March 24th they will release their first 2 albums ’30/Smooth’ and ‘Kerplunk’ and ‘Dookie’ will be available on April 18th. The remaining albums will be released throughout 2009.
