Imagine Dragons Anti-Gun Violence Festival

Dan Reynolds of Imagine Dragons has proposed and anti-gun violence festival and several artists have already signed on.  Dan  writes in a Twitter post

“With the failure of WOODSTOCK I pose this question. What artists/speakers are willing to play for free (we get some corporate dollars to cover crew costs and travel etc) to put on a festival raising money for organizations that are fighting for new legislation regarding gun laws.”

“We are gonna DO this I promise you that. This isn’t political. This is a festival about our people being KILLED. It needs to stop. And honestly. It’s gonna take our artists and people of influence stepping up. Because lawmakers ARE NOT.”

I’ll be keeping watch on a date and will post it when I see it.

Drake Removes Some Lyrics

I don’t normally post on huge famous artists but I thought this was a great move.  Drake recently released an album of his hit songs and one of them is “Jodeci Freestyle” that he did with J. Cole.  In that track, J. Cole says:

Go check the numbers dummy, that’s just me gettin’ started
I’m artistic, you n—as is autistic, retarded

Well Drake wasn’t having it and removed the lyric.  They even had to have a joint press release!  Cole apologized for being insensitive and all is safe and great in the world!

Foreigners Residency in Vegas!

Well if you’re in Las Vegas in late January 2020 or April 2020 you should go see Foreigner.  They are having a residency at The Venetian Theatre inside The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas beginning January 24th for Five performances.  Then another run of Five performances in April 2020.

Lead singer Kelly Hansen had this to day (from AnitMusic.com):

“If you take a look at Foreigner’s catalog, there are 16 top 30 hits, and [in planning a show like this] the problem becomes what songs do you leave out.  Do you do some songs acoustically or do you give them all the classic presentation? These are all discussions that we have in creating a set list, but you’re definitely going to hear all of the big ones for sure.”

Tool Catalog is Finally Online

Finally!  Tool has put all of their albums online available for streaming.  I used to go to YouTube to listen to the albums (If I didn’t have it available from my own collection) so I’m very happy about this.  Maynard James Keenan says:

“Our obsession with, and dream of, a world where BetaMax and Laser Disc rule has ended. Time for us to move on. But never fear. There’s a brand new thing we think you’re really gonna dig. It’s called Digital Downloads and Streaming. Get ready for the future, folks!”

A few hours after the albums were released on iTunes, all of their albums were on the iTunes Top 10!
